Russian Salad

Russian salad is a popular cold salad. It is made with diced potatoes and other vegetables bound in a creamy dressing comprising of mayonnaise. Serve Russian salad as a side dish with roast. Recipe by Cooking expert Sharmeen.

Ingredients

  • Apples (cubed) 2
  • Walnuts crushed 1 cup
  • Potatoes (cubed) 2
  • Raisins 1 cup
  • Boiled Peas 1/2 cup
  • Carrots (cubed) 1
  • Pineapple (cubed) 3 slices
  • Cabbage chopped 1 cup
  • Cream 1/4 cup
  • Mayonnaise 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Sugar 1/4 tsp
  • White Pepper as required

Cooking Directions

  1. Whisk the mayo along with the cream, salt, white and black pepper and sugar until well mixed.
  2. Now put all vegetables, raisins and walnuts in a bowl along with the apples and pineapple.
  3. Pour over the salad dressing and mix well to combine.
  4. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve.
